Another Name
  • buff
  • economy

Spells you cast at contact range become weapon strikes and inherit your weapon's guaranteed critical conditions. Weapon strikes you make at reach become spells and gain penetration against magical defence. Symmetric: it applies to what lands on you.

Wandblade
  • melee
  • burst

Swing the wand. Its edge of pure force extends well past the wand itself, so the strike lands at contact range and at reach alike, for less at the outer limit. Single target.

Point Blank Bolt
  • projectile
  • burst

A spell fired at contact range, close enough that the discharge is physical. Inverted falloff: maximum damage in contact, almost nothing at reach.

Hexmark
  • rider
  • control

A stab that leaves a curse in the wound, paying into the general Vulnerability bucket. At contact range it strips physical and magical defence alike. At reach it is a thrown curse reducing magical defence only, by a stated lesser amount.

Sever
  • melee
  • control

Cut a buff or enchantment off an enemy, removing it outright. At contact range it strips anything; at reach it is a spell and strips magical defence only. Nothing against an unbuffed target.

Runeflick
  • spread
  • clear
0.77 15%

Scatter several small blades of force outward, on distance scaling: each peaks at the outer limit of the force-edge. The blades are weapon strikes, so at contact range they land at their minimum. Steep falloff.

n = enemies struck

Threshold
  • dash
  • mobility

A short step that crosses the contact line deliberately. From contact range it places you at the outer limit of your force-edge; from reach it places you in contact.

Parry the Spell
  • reactive
  • defense

At reach, meet an incoming spell with the wand as though it were a blade and the cast is deflected outright. At contact range the wand parries a swung weapon instead. One category at a time.

Falloff: per-target damage × n^-k down to Floor, where n is targets hit. k = 0 is no falloff, and is a spell that states none.
